Spot of red
It was a very successful weekend. A little discouraged by last Sunday experience in photographing birds from blind in local Raptor Center, I went and rented a lens just for the purpose this time. And not just an ordinary lens. Although tempted by Nikon’s 200-400 mm, Sigma 50-500 mm just looked like a better deal. I was not disappointed, on cropped sensor it gave me enough focal lenght, and the depth of field at f/7.1 was incredible. An hour and a half in barely 10F, and I came home with fantastic collection of local birds images. I like those of cardinals the most- the bird feeding are is surrounded by a kind of fence made of spruce and pine branches. Their bright green color contrasts perfectly with red plumage of male cardinal.
