Fajita
Lucky me. A friend of mine, who is a hobbyist pro photographer (meaning photography is his weekend job) needed assistance for food shooting, and although I wasn’t his first choice for calling, I think I turned out useful. My Sunday was not very busy, I could spare afternoon even on 15 min notice, I went without hesitation. The shoot was slow in the moments, as the food was coming out of the kitchen fresh, meaning the boss went to cook after he made sure we photographed and then again the previous one, so I had a lot of time to play with my camera. I decided on Lensbaby, cause just doubling my friends shoots didn’t seem fun. And I was shooting most of the time perpendicular to his setup, from the side, so my perspective came out different. We have been using the natural light, afternoon sun coming through West facing windows, which became almost a problem, but the clouds showed up. Some umbrellas and reflectors were in use, for different dishes and the changes in light. Oh, and the restaurant is Casa Las Glorias in Cedar Rapids. I promised I’ll mention :).
It looks like I’ll be posting the pics from shoot all week, so the shooter (mine) favorite for today. I am not 100% sure what the dish is called, it looked like fajita to me, but wasn’t sizzling :). What I like about this photo is green contrasting with brown of meat and sides.
