Around the photo Web – Part 7
To follow up with yesterday’s post talking about the modern day challenges in shooting film (at least based on my experience, living in small Midwestern town), I have a few links to articles exploring various aspects of shooting 35 mm film.
- Leigh Diprose’s detailed description (with photos, including a sneak peak inside the machine) of how the film is developed in a photo lab, not only for those who have never worked in a darkroom and are wondering how it works (found on PetaPixel blog)
- Eric Kim gives a very thorough primer for film shooting for street photographers (but it is far more general than one genre, really)
- Ken Rockwell tries to answer the question on what is digital resolution of the analog, 35 mm films
- Why is it better to photograph film using DSL rather than scanning it with even best scanner and how exactly do this– a two-article series by Gianluca Bevacqua (found on PetaPixel blog)
And if you know of any good resources for film shooters, please share them in the comments!
