Wind mills of Northern Iowa

Whenever we travel to Northern Iowa or through Northern Iowa, I keep my camera ready. That’s where the wild mills reside in our state. I cannot explain what is drawing me to them so much. After all, there is nothing natural about them- clunky metal construction sticking out of the landscape, usually in large groups. And yet, the fact that they produce clean energy or just how cool they look, I cannot resist photographing them. I can also blame Uwe Eischens, whose blog I follow for a very long time and whose moody landscapes oftentimes incorporate wind mills.
