Windy evening with fire
Last weekend, our local photo club organized (well, our Activities leader did) a fun photo shoot for club members. We met on a parking lot of a construction company outside the city to shoot steel wool on fire. It was a fun evening, and we stayed as long as there was steel wool to combust regardless of 30 miles/hour wind. Granted, sheltered some behind a building, cold nevertheless.
The shot itself is not a complicated one, and just quick look at various online tutorials (best in my opinion is this article by Andrew Gibson) will get you all the information you need – both how to do it, and how to shoot it. And then, the variety of shots depend only on in how many ways the person spinning the wool can move.
