Big Badlands Overlook under stormy clouds
This image does not look much as HDR, which it is. The combination of few exposures was necessary, to preserve all those fantastic details in the stormy clouds. It was one of the first photos I took after we entered the park. The Biga Badlands Overlook. I was fascinated by the unearthly landscape in front of me, somehow similar to Canyonlands, and yet completely different.
There was a light rain, the weather was just starting to get better, and we ended up having a great afternoon hikes. But this weather at the beginning was far better for photography. Not too much contrast, no direct sun. And those dramatic clouds, defining the atmosphere of the image.
