Catching up with autumn
I almost missed the fall this year. More like I almost missed the opportunity to photograph it. When we were taking off on our Utah vacation, the colors in our area were getting close to peak. Last weekend, I had no time to squeeze another outing to the woods. Finally, when we got out this weekend, most of the trees were gone- leaves brown and falling down.
On top pf that, my main camera and my go-to zoom lens went for thorough cleaning out of town. Desperate, to took out of the box the D40x (which is still for sale) and two prime lenses for a “new” experience. Zooming with feet on top of not familiar any more button and menus…
I really enjoyed the warm, low light shortly before sunset, and used it as backlight to the leaves. I created a beautiful play of light and shadow, like in this image. The only problem? Blemishes on the leaves. Too late in the season, or tree disease- I don’t know. I cleaned some of them in Photoshop, but not all of them, And I still wonder- how distracting they are in the final image? Any thoughts?
