Colors in B&W

I was thinking to convert one of my fall images to B&W. I did it on a close-up of the leaves few years ago, and I was positively surprised with the results. it is something a bit counterintuitive – to take something in color and remove what makes it work. I choose eventually this aerial view of Iowa City neighbourhood – because apart of color, it had this strong geometric lines of the streets. This element is almost lost in color image, when eyes focus on bright reds and yellow.
