Eggplant (low key)

I found this eggplant at Mill City Farmers Market few weeks ago. I wish I could take credit for this beautiful low light, but no, it was there, just how I found it. This is something I still have to work on. I know great light when i see. But how to create it? I do understand all the technical stuff with flashes and handle them well, yet the artistic vision, not so much.

The vendor stand was under the roof and there was not much light in there overall. Placing the camera to create interesting composition was all I had to do. In post, I just darkened a bit surrounding as there were details peeking in from the back, and I warmed it a little bit to create the moody Renaissance paintings atmosphere.
