Landscape (Foregrounds) from Badlands, SD
I just came back from the Memorial Day weekend trip and was going through my photos and catching up with RSS feeds at the same time. I saw this image and Digital Photography School assignment for this week, and thought they would go together quite well.
I am still to write a post with my impressions from Badlands but one thing is sure. It is a rocky place and somewhat arid. This Utah-like landscape was on prevailing on the “optional” part of the Door Trail, one of the first when you enter the park on the East side. After the short and interesting boardwalk you can continue hiking among the rock formations to overview the canyon deeper into the park. It was a sunny midday, but thanks to polarizing filter and clouds in the sky, it turned out interesting enough to complement the view.
