Macro Monday – The spokes

I decided to try something else than plants for Macro Monday today. I am working on a post on Lensbaby, and was going through some of my old shots, from the time I was taking a Betterphoto class with Tony Sweet (interestingly not offered anymore. But it was a few years back).

I remember how much fun I had, working on the images of the spokes and wheel from his bike with my husband. We had a wheel on the table, and he was turning it while I was shooting. The blur from movement, the blur from Lensbaby effect, all at once. The silver background comes from the reflector, the golden side, which was there to cast some additional light. Not much needed for Lenababy to create areas of color. An close-up of the wheel turnes almost abstract when taken out of context of the whole object.
