Red Bull helicopter challenge

One of the most unique helicopters – Messerschmitt-Bölkow Blohm BO-105, the only one flying aerobatics in the skillful hands of Chuck Aaron. At the same time, the most challenging aircraft to photograph. The trick is in the shutter speed, long enough to show movement of those rotors. Not so easy when you arms are already tired of holding up heavy telephoto lens and still trying to pan at less than 1/focal length ;).

I already had a take on photographing Red Bull helicopter few years ago. At 1/30 second, the main rotor almost created a circle. Encouraged, I tried this time, and at 1/50 second I was able to add another view to my collection.
