Silent flight

Photographing the Quad City Airshow, this was he most difficult photograph to take for me. I love watching sail planes in the air. It is such a different experience. With no music at all, or just a calm tune, you can hear only the air touching the wings. The sounds reminds a bit the sound of single pair of skates on the empty ice rink. Subdued, elegant.
All of those feelings I was trying to capture in this image. But the image cannot record the sound. Nor can it show lack thereof. All I could capture was the slim, elegant silhouette of this sail plane. And the blue sky with layers of clouds, clearing after the rainy night.
