Translucent tulip
Orange tulips are my favorite. When the sun shines through the petals, they almost glow with this warm, pleasant light. Like lanterns. With shallow depth of field, it turns into abstract of colors.
I found a bunch of those at the entrance to the Sholte Garden in Pella, Iowa last Friday and didn’t want to leave. I was photographing them from different angles, and macro, and less intimate views. I will probably be showing some more in the upcoming posts, but today I chose the macro shot I submitted to Macro Contest on the Macro forum run by Mike Moats of Tiny Landscapes. I probably would not go there is there wasn’t for the contests. But I never participated in any forum, so I might stay and see how that works. New experience.
